A Grand Adventure-Book 8. Part 3

[Power’s view of things]

Bla, bla, bla. That’s all I heard from the interrogator, I couldn’t care less for what he was saying. Hatred was rushing through me. I hate Shadow! The way he always defeats me, the way he is always angry but I can’t use that against him, the way he was always with Winter-yes-that is what I hated about him most. It was like he was replacing me, like she, like she didn’t need me anymore, like I was no longer her brother, like I had never existed to her, like I was a pain, a burden! Oh, how I hated him! Oh, how I hated him!! I couldn’t take me eyes off him. But he didn’t look at me, which made me angrier.

But then, then in the middle of my anger, of my raging fire, I realized, I saw… he was uncomfortable, it pleased me. I was bothering him! I was getting to him!! I laughed to myself. Finally, I had broken him, like after time if you keep hitting it, steel brakes, my persistence was paying off, I was finally cracking the steel, and I was braking…him. My joy only grew when they left them room.

Then I was alone for hours. I guess it was to try to make me mad or talk, not like it was going to work.

[Winter’s view of things]

I was relieved when the Commander was looking for us when I was going to interrogate him, and that I was out while he was. To me, he is no longer my brother, to me, my brother dead a long time ago. I don’t know who is in that interrogation room but is sure isn’t him. “Hey, Daniel want to know if you want in on his interrogation.” Silver said.

“I want in.” We headed for where the action was.

“Ok, this guy will not talk! He just-he just stands there!”

“Because you’re using the wrong technique.” I replied. He turned. I snatched the case file from his hands. “Well, are you coming? Or am I going to have to do this myself?” We walked in. The moment that door opened he looked at me. He smiled, I couldn’t tell if it was evil or just a smile. “We know what you’re plan is with the Doctor, it’s over.” I could feel the Daniel looking at me like, ‘what the-we don’t!’

“Really, what is it? Last thing I’ve heard is you don’t even know where he is.”

“Well then, let me bring you up to speed. Eggman is on Prison Island locked away…just like you’ll be.” He just looked. “Oh right, you’re plan. A bomb, am I right?”

“Wrong. We aren’t using a bomb…Winter, I am insulted, that is to dull and boring. No we are going for something more…entertaining, something that will really get your attention. You know you really should get that wall fixed, it’s screaming this way in!” He replied. I looked at Daniel (the interrogator). He gestured that I keep doing what I was doing.

“We destroyed the base and everything in it.” I lied. This whole time I had been lying.

“Trust me, the Doctor isn’t done. This blow is going to cripple you, and he’ll rebuild his empire.” He hissed.

“He’ll have to have superhuman luck to do that through his cell on a secured island, even he can’t pull that off, so the question is, what are you defending, no matter what happens here, if you talk or not, you are going to Prison Island, so…what are you doing?” I asked.

“What I do best, Winter, waiting.”

“Hm, well, you keep doing that.” The two of us walked out leaving him alone.

“Ok, how did you do that?!”

“Like you said, his my brother, I know him.”

“All those things you told him are they…true?”

I shook my head. “But what he said might be.”

“He did say cripple us, right…?” We walked down the hall, headed to the main control room. I was deep in thought.

“Did he talk?” The Commander asked.

“Yes.” Daniel replied.

“Anything important?” I told them what Power had boasted. “What does it mean?”

“How do you not know what he means?” Sonic asked.

“Wait, what could cripple us more than G.U.N falling?” Tails asked. “Without you guys it would literally just be us.”

“And like I said, the wall is a huge door.” Sonic continued.

“He said he was waiting…waiting for Eggman to get him out of here while destroying this place.” I finished.

“What was the information stolen?”

“The layout of this building.” The Commander replied slowly. “Which fits perfectly with your theory.”

[Rogue’s view of things]

‘Well that’s nice. Maybe we should have let the Black Arms eat him.’ So the work on the wall was rushed as much as it could be. Everyone was busy, even though a few seconds ago nobody had anything to do. Shadow and I had been sent to find Eggman, I wasn’t going to complain I was getting tired of just wondering around having nothing better to do. Shadow was quiet, only speaking when completely necessary.

I took me a long while to realize this, I mean, Shadow isn’t one for talking, never was. It was weird we hadn’t found Eggman yet, he loves to boast to us and revealing his entire plan out of pride and stupidity-‘Guess his mother never taught him pride comes before a fall.’ I stopped. I looked around. I ran to catch up to Shadow. I thought I had heard something…but guess not.

“There’s nothing here.” He stated. I stopped, I was starting to think Power had lied to us, Eggman never ever hides this well…but what could he gain from lying to us? He really is going to Prison Island, so what?

“Hey, Shadow, what would Power gain from lying to us?”

He thought for a moment. “I don’t know, other than being a complete jerk.”

“No, there’s got to be more. He maybe a jerk, but he isn’t stupid, everything he does is part of a plan.”

“Hmm. You’re right.” We were walking back to base, thinking of what he could gain, what was his plan? I stopped, I had heard something again, this time Shadow noticed. He seemed rather annoyed.

A Grand Adventure-Book 8. Part 2.

[Knuckles’ view of things]

‘Ok, which one of you ratted me out?!’ (As it turned out nobody did).

Soon, Silver, Winter and I set out to find Eggman’s place. “Hey Knuckles, sounds like the Commander might be on to you.” Silver teased. I forced a laughed.

“So anyone know where this base is?” Winter asked.

“Oh great, he didn’t give us that information, nice.”

“I’ve got this.” Silver said. “You might want to duck.” He shot out a wave in all directions, only one bounced back. “This way is our best bet.” He pointed south. So we headed south. We ran for a while until we reached what looked like a waste land.

“What is this?” Winter whispered. We walked around looking at the scrapes of metal on the ground and rotting things.

“It looks like a part of Eggman’s Empire.” I stated. Once, not too long ago this planet was full of creatures and happiness, but that was all taken away by Eggman when he started conquering, now there are few little towns here and there, but it isn’t the same.

“But didn’t you guys eradicate it?” She asked.

“These are parts that were abandoned, before we started fighting back.” Silver explained. She just nodded. The waste land was a far as the eye could see.

“Are you sure it’s this way Silver?” He sent out another wave. He nodded. We kept running.

[Shadow’s view of things]

Sonic was being really annoying. Complaining, like a child. “What is wrong with you?” I nearly screamed.

“Gezz, what wrong with me?! I’ve been looked inside this building for two days, and you’re asking ‘what’s wrong’?!” It was the first time he yelled back at me.

“Well at least you weren’t on that blasted ship!” I was really angry, I wanted to forget about yesterday, but I couldn’t, it stuck in my mind like glue.

“Sorry, Shads.” He apologized.

“Even in your apologies you try to mess with me.”

“Well duh.” He laughed. As much as I hated this fact, he was making me feel better-I still utterly hate him-well, maybe not utterly, but I do hate him.

“Alright, I’m going to interrogate the guy, I’m going to need one of you in there in case he wants to kill something.”

“All you Shadow.”

“Fine.” ‘And that is why I hate him.’ We walked into the room and closed the door behind us. Power looked at me, anger in his eyes. I was going to stay as far away as possible.

“You know what charges you’re facing?” He opened a file. “Conspiracy with Eggman and Andrew, attempted murder, assault on government agents…must I go on?” Of course Power didn’t answer. “You’re going to spend the rest of your life on Prison Island. But if you cooperate I could make you stay more…pleasurable.”

He just stood there staring at me! I wanted to get out of the room. It felt like he could see right through me! Like he could see the darkest corners of me. The interrogator threatened for a while until he realized what was going on. He motioned to me that he was leaving I followed, knowing he knew Power was bothering me.

“Well, let’s let that information sink in.” He covered for me.

I nodded. I shook my head, trying to clear it. The room was empty and quiet I looked through the glass, he was still staring at me. I rushed out and back into the busy hallways. I walked down the halls, wandering, trying to get as far away from him as possible. I ended up at the wall that was being repaired. I stood next to Omega. He turned his head and looked at me.

“What is the matter?” I didn’t reply, just looked around. “It is him, isn’t it?” He paused.

“I don’t know, he was staring at me in interrogation, it bothered me.” Of course Omega didn’t answer, that’s why I like to talk to him, he understands, but doesn’t try to make me feel better, he just listens.

[Silver’s view of things]

We had been looking for about an hour, even I was starting to doubt myself. I sent out another wave, it bounced back showing there was something big a few miles ahead, so we keep going. “Finally!”

Eggman’s base appeared. But not a robot or lasered fence in sight. Either Eggman didn’t care or-

“How stupid does he think we are?” Knuckles asked

“Stupid enough to walk into this trap.” Winter answered.

“So…what do we do?”

“What we came here to do, get the information back form Eggman.” Knuckles said in the Commander’s voice.

“Chaos Control!” We appeared inside Eggman’s base. “Well, this is nice.” Winter looked around. “Nothing’s here!” The metal was rusted and smelly. It was really hot, which meant the ventilation system wasn’t working. “This computer won’t even turn on!” Winter called.

“Is it just me or does this place look really old?” Knuckles asked. There was a faint tapping sound coming from the darker part of the base. I took a few steps forward. The room was quiet, only the tapping could be heard. The air was still and hot. My heart was racing, there we plenty of things that it could be. “Silver!” Knuckles hissed. “Get over here!” The tapping sound was getting louder, but I hadn’t moved! “Silver!” They both hissed. I inched my way toward them, slowly, slowly-oh so very slowly. But the tapping was still growing louder, and louder!

“Let’s get out of here, the info isn’t even here.” Winter suggested. I nodded stiffly and rushed toward the door, looking back once, and I could have sworn I saw two glowing red eyes. I ran to catch up to Winter and Knuckles.

“Did you guys have fun?” Yup, yes, that is the first thing Sonic asked.

“No.” I answered.

“You’re just trying to make me feel better.”

“Yup! We had a great time!” Winter lied.

Sonic fake cried. “No fair! Why?!” He stopped. “Oh, you missed Power’s interrogation. It was really boring. He didn’t even answer.”

“What’d you think he’d do, burst into tears and talk?”

“Well yeah, Winter, that’s what I was hoping for.” He replied.

“Well, did he have information?” The Commander asked.

“No. In fact, his computer wouldn’t even turn on.” Knuckles began. “It was an old looking base, the metal was rusted and collapsed.”

“See the wall is slow going.”

“Taking longer than we’d hoped.” He replied.

‘Like we wouldn’t have noticed.’

The Adventures of the Super Mario Bros.-Book 9

[In the Mushroom Kingdom]

“Alright guys, see ya.”

They waved good-bye to their friend as he disappeared. They turned, the towers of the castle peeking over the trees. They walked back towards it. When they reached it they smiled, the little town was quiet and peaceful. They felt happiness, they were back home, and their home was still there to greet them.

As the sun rose over the very tops of the castle the little town bustled with life and activity, in fact, the town didn’t seem so little anymore. The streets were filled with the clamoring of friendly chatter, mothers scolding, shop keepers advertising, and children’s laughter, yup, this was home.

As they walked down the dusty old dirt roads some Toads ran up to them, telling they about the new paved roads they’re going to be building instead of the dusty dirty dirt roads. They talked about other things for a few more moments, where they had been, what Bowser was up to, about Peach, and all around life.

The air was sweet, leaves danced in the air, littering the roads making them look better than they really were. It was fall, the season where it is chilly and holidays are celebrated. It was a happy time of year, it was the only time Bowser didn’t kidnap the princess, for he two enjoyed the festivities, in fact…the whole Mushroom World does!

[Mario’s view of things]

As I walked down the dirt roads of Toad Town I grew happier than I thought imaginable, Thanksgiving was around the corner, then Costume Night, then-the youngling’s personal favorite, Christmas. Everyone had a small little bounce in their steps, even Luigi! They were all talking about how the Thanksgiving feast would be great, everyone in the whole five kingdoms were going to be there…even Bowser….

“I still think it really isn’t a good idea to invite Bowser this year-or any year- he is the villain around here.” Luigi voiced.

“I know, but it’s the Princess’ decision, plus Bowser isn’t that cold hearted to ruin Thanksgiving for everyone just so he can kidnap her.” I replied.

“He’s a reptile he’s cold blooded for crying out loud!”

“Prince Peasley is gonna be there.”

“What? Really?! Oh, I mean cool, nice.” I laughed. “Not funny Mario.”

A Glimpse into the Future-Book 10

[In Mobius’ future]

The future was fixed, but with being fixed come a new set of problems, the timeline has been altered, whatever happens, wasn’t meant to be, it is a new timeline, anyone can change it, either for good or ill.

Life was nice, G.U.N has been reborn. Shadow was the commander, even though he strongly disagreed. He doesn’t know this, but he does a great job, he is a fine commander. Everyone was happy. There had been a fifteen year peace. So most of the agents had gone home to their families, but where ready to be called back if needed. And everyone had a family.

There was a threat to the peace, as there always is, Ivo Jr.

“He has built a base and is constructing an army.” Shadow informed his friends which were the only G.U.N agents at hand.

“Come on, can’t the guy just enjoy the peace? Get a cat or something.” Sonic complained.

“Eggman was his father Sonic, what else did you expect?” Tails asked. (Tails is thirteen years old). Sonic shrugged.

“I’ve called the others are told them to be ready.” Rouge informed.

“Good.”

[Blaze’s view of things]

‘Like I don’t know what was going on.’ My parents and the others were having another late night meeting at our place. We were listening from the top of the stairs, by we I mean, myself, Shadric, Lilly, Veronica, Angle, and Oreo. Sky and Mikey were in my room, they weren’t the type to listen in on grown up conversations.

Ever since I went to the past to stop Dooms Day life here had turned for the better. The planet is inhabited like it was before Eggman starting his empire. Things were going well, so good all of the G.U.N agents had gone home to their families.

“So what do we do in the mean time?” Knuckles asked.

“Keep watching him.” The conversation went on for a while, mostly things that were very interesting.

“Kids! Time to go!” Sonic called. Shadric and Lilly waved good-bye and raced down the stairs, the rest of us ran into my room so they wouldn’t think we were listening in.

“Come guys!” Knuckles called.

“See you guys tomorrow.” Angle waved as she and he younger brother, Mikey, walked down the stairs.

“What about us?” Oreo asked.

“The kitchen has a back door-wait why are you asking, my parents know you’re here.” I laughed.

“Bye.” Sky waved. I nodded. I turned to Veronica.

“T-Think they know?” She asked me.

“Nah.” I answered. Silver walked in. “Hey, genius, ever learned to knock?” He chuckled. “So…?”

“So what?”

“Why are you here?”

“Oh, now I have to have a reason for things?”

“When did you never?”

“I came to warn you that Winter and Shadow just might be on to you.” Veronica had hidden under the covers of the bed, like she always does when somebody enters the room. Silver looked.

I shrugged and forced a laugh. Even though Silver had been here long before she was born she never really got used to him being around, she liked him-as a friend-by always ran away or hid or didn’t talk when he was around. “What did I do?”

“Nothing Silver, she just-.”

“Hates me.”

“She doesn’t hate you, and she can hear you.” He sighed. Veronica popped her head from under the covers. She took a long gaze at Silver, and slowly climbed out of bed.

“… … …” She wanted to say something but was scared to. “I…don’t…hate you.” She said slowly. Silver smiled.

“Told you.” I said. Soon Silver left. Then dad walked in. ‘We are so dead.’ He looked at the both of us.

“Alright you two, what did you hear?” He questioned.

“Everything.” I replied.

“You were listening in the whole time? We only realized at the very end!” He couldn’t believe it.

“Dad, don’t worry…this will soon be all over.” Veronica encouraged. (She only had problems speaking to people who aren’t, myself, mom, and dad). He smiled, but I could tell he hadn’t be convinced.

A Grand Adventure-Book 8.

[Power’s view of things]

I awoke in a room. I looked around, it didn’t take long for me to guess correctly where I was. The last place I was before…the blackness, was attacking G.U.N so the doctor could escape. The only places I could be was back at Eggman’s base, or at G.U.N H.Q. If I were at Eggman base I wouldn’t be locked in a room, so it has to be the latter…which is just great!

[Tails’ view of things]

The H.Q. was still being fixed from the events of the day before. Everyone was mostly ok, but still a little uneasy. I hadn’t seen Shadow whack Power, but I did hear the bang, and saw the metal beam in his hand and an unconscious jerk.

Now, that very conscious jerk was in an interrogation room, which just so happened to be fire proof- what did the founders of this organization think would happen-? I guess I shouldn’t complain since if it wasn’t for that…thought…Power would have escaped by now.

“So…who’s goin’ talk to him?” An agent asked.

“Why not you? You are the interrogator.” Winter replied. In other words saying “I don’t want to.” I couldn’t blame her, I didn’t either. The interrogator thought for a moment.

“You should, I mean he’s…you know…and he could trust you giving you an advantage.” He said the first part very slowly and rushed the last part.

“Yeah, only that he has been trying to kill me for a long time now, so sure, he’s so gonna trust me.” She said sarcastically.

“Fine! Esh. Don’t need to get nasty. I’ll interrogate him-later!” We all walked out of the room. Knuckles snickered. We walked back into the room. I, sadly, had no idea what was going on.

“Well, that was easy.” Sonic sounded surprised.

“What’s going on here?” I asked. Nobody answered. ‘Classic, ignoring the eight year old, I thought this stage was over.’ “What’s going on?” I asked louder.

“Ready, this won’t be recorded.” Rogue informed.

I was about to ask again when Sonic turned to me. “Winter is going to interrogate him, but off the record,”

“About what?”

“About the same stuff he is going to.”

“Then why interrogate him off record?” I was confused.

“Because, it’s more fun this way-to be honest I have no clue.” He replied.

“Remember only attack him if completely needed.”

“It’s always needed if you ask me.” Knuckles whispered.

“True, true, but how are we going to hide a black eye from the Commander?” Rogue asked.

“Well then, this’ll be no fun.” Suddenly Silver hurried in.

“The Commander’s looking for us!”

“But…but…the show.” Sonic joked as we walked out.

So we walked into the main room like we WEREN’T just trying to interrogate Power OFF RECORD. I guess the others were pretty good actors because I wasn’t acting, I wasn’t trying to interrogate him, I was trying to figure out what was goin’ on!

[Sonic’s view of things]

‘Buzzkill.’ The Commander just had to be looking for us, then, at the very second didn’t he? Why was he even looking for us?  “Is it just me or are they destroying that wall instead of fixing it?” I asked.

“Needed to tear it all down to fix it.” The Commander replied.

“Oh, never would have guessed that, I thought they were opening a way for Eggman to get in. Might as well put up a nice neon welcome sign because that hole is big enough for a Mech!” I informed, rudely.

“Thank you, there’s no way I could have thought of that, that’s why Omega is just standing there doing nothing.” He played along.

‘Real buzzkill.’ Rogue and Tails were laughing quietly.

“Now, can I get to why I called you here?” He looked at us. “Now, I know you don’t work for us, but we are working together…”

‘Awkward.’ I looked at Knuckles. He stood there like he had never though anything remotely close to what the Commander was talking about. Which is what made this moment so great. Then, the best part. The Commander moved on like nothing happened and he hadn’t started that sentence.

“We have gotten reports that Eggman might have obtained some information from our computers while ‘helping’ us. We want you to get it back.”

So we had something to do, great, only I didn’t get to go! Along with Shadow, Rouge and Tails. We got to stay here and die of boredom.

“How come we all can’t go?” I grumbled.

“Beats me.” Tails answered.

A Grand Adventure-Book 7. Part 10.

[Shadow’s view of things]

Winter was going try to send a message to the others, and take down the ship’s defenses, I was going to take care of Black Death. “Remember, stay out of sight, I won’t be there to help you.” I reminded her.

“I’ll be fine….”

We ran off. Doom’s Eye found me. “Shadow, you owe this planet and its people nothing.”

“And I don’t owe you anything either!” I growled.

“Shadow…I didn’t want it to go down this way, but you leave me no choice.” I could feel him trying to get control over me, it was painful to resist but I have to, I have to. “You can’t escape Doom’s Eye!” Images flashed through my head.

“Stop. Stop.” I moaned.

“Stop resisting, the more you resist the more it will hurt.” He answered softly. I started to think of all the people I would hurt if I stopped resisting. Sonic. Tails. Silver. Rogue. Omega. Knuckles. Winter. Ab. Everyone….

“Get out…of…MY HEAD!” I screamed. “I’m going to kill you and stop you just like I did Black Doom!” Doom’s Eye flew off, looked like he was in a hurry. I ran into the room Death was in.

“Shadow, this is your end!” I dodged the attack, which was mostly what I was doing. Running in a crooked path so I was less likely to get hit. This went on for a while. “Chaos-!”

‘Run!!’ I dove behind a wall. I looked, he was angry. I sighed. I took of the inhibitor rings on my wrists.

“I will not be defeated by you, not like Black Doom. I will win! I will harvest this planet!”

“You’re right, it took my super form to defeat him, but you-Chaos Blast!”

[Black Death’s view of things]

“-I’m going to kill you and stop you, just like I did Black Doom-!”  He screamed.

“Doom’s Eye, just Eclipse off this ship, now!” I ordered. Suddenly Shadow busted in. “Shadow this is the end of you!” I attacked him, but he kept dodging running is a zig-zag and I could hit him. “Chaos-!” He dove behind a wall. I was very angry, I couldn’t loss, not like my predecessor. “I will not be defeated by you, not like Black Doom. I will win! I will harvest this planet!”

“You’re right.” He began smugly. “It took my super form to defeat Black Doom, by you-Chaos Blast!”

It was over, I had lost.

[Winter’s view of things]

I had shut down the ships defenses, which, had its consequences. ‘Get out the room, get out the room!’ I slammed the door behind me, and froze the door handle. ‘Good-bye mindless devils.’ I grinned to myself.

Eclipse grabbed my arm. I turned. His eyes glowed with anger, he hand squeezing. I groaned. “You’re friend killed my leader, now, he has to pay, he-ah! Cold!”

“Don’t ever, ever, EVER, touch me!” I growled. He looked at me.

“You’re arm, it’s-!”

“Solid ice, yeah, I know!” I chuckled. “Now, if you don’t mind I have to go.” I ran off. ‘If he were controlled by the mind hive-yes, I know his name but it’s too stupid to say-he would be dead as well, but he isn’t.’

I ran to the main room. “Winter, you need to get off the ship.” He said.

“Let’s go then.” I answered, putting emphasis in “let’s.”

“Go, I’ll be right behind you.”

“Shadow, they’re going to fire and soon, come on let’s get off this ship, now!”

“Go, come on Winter, I’m an ultimate lifeform, I’ll make it.”

“If you don’t make it-.”

“I’ll make it, promise.” He said softly.

I raced off. ‘Ultimate pain is more like it.’ I stopped for a minute, but then kept going. “Guys!” I called.

“Winter!” I smiled.

“You’re all right.” Silver cheered. I nodded.

“But where’s Shadow?” Sonic asked. I turned too looked at the ship. Boom! The ship exploded.

‘Shadow!’ My mind screamed. A pain rushed through me when I didn’t see him, I didn’t see him.

“Something must be wrong with my vision, for I do not see Shadow.” Omega stated. Suddenly Shadow appeared, gasping, hands on his knees. We all sighed and chuckled.

“Why?” I asked him, trying to sound angry.

“What?” He asked.

“Why with the dramatic entrances?”

“Cause it’s fun.” I punched him. He smiled. ‘What a…JERK! What a jerk, what a jerk.’

[Sonic’s view of things]

The Black Arms just fell to the ground, lifeless. “They did it.” The Commander sighed.

“The mind hive must be dead.” Tails laughed. We were about to break out the beers and the hugs-

“Guys!” We all turned.

“Winter!”

She smiled. “You’re all right.” Silver cheered. She nodded.

“But where’s Shadow?” I asked. She turned too looked at the ship. Boom! The ship exploded. “That had better not have been the Commander who just blasted that ship with SHADOW STILL INSIDE!!’

“Something must be wrong with my vision, for I do not see Shadow.” Omega stated. Suddenly Shadow appeared. We all sighed and chuckled.

“He’s a jerk.” Knuckles whispered to me.

“Yeah he is…but I think that what we like about him.” I admitted.

“Yeah, I think you’re right.” Suddenly we all turned to Eggman.

“Um…got to go feed my…um-cats-that it, so yeah…see ya!” He tried to run.

[Knuckles’ view of things]

“He’s a jerk.” Was all I said when Shadow appeared AFTER the ship BLEW UP! After a little while we all turned to Eggman.

“Um…got to go feed my…um-cats-that it, so ya see ya!” He tried to run. “Backup, NOW!”

“Hey guys, been a while.” A voice laughed. I groaned. It was Power. He fired at use…Eggman got away-bla, bla, bla-now to the only truly hilarious thing that has appeared all day…Shadow…hit Power…in the back of the head…with a……metal beam! A METAL BEAM for goodness sake.

“Oh goodness, Shadow?!” Rouge looked at him.

“What I knocked him out, just the fun way, what’s so wrong with that?”

“Rouge it’s alright. He’s my brother-sadly-and I don’t mind.” Winter said.

‘Loved how she added sadly in the middle of a sentence with his name in it, could this day get any better?’

[Narration]

Sure, of course the day could get better, and-for once-it did! But only the day did. “Why did you only wish for a day, Knuckles?!”

“Sorry! I didn’t even think that one day would come true!”

*Groaning*

A Grand Adventure-Book 7. Part 9.

[Winter’s view of things]

Shadow hadn’t really answered my question. He pulled me into a room and shut the door. I sank to the ground, muscles aching. “What was that?” I repeated.

“A paralytic gas.” He replied. I looked at him, he didn’t looked at me. I knew he was blaming himself.

“Shadow, you know none of this is your fault.”

He sighed, sitting down. “I know, but it feels like it is.” He finally looked at me. His red eyes sad.

“So how are we going to stop them?”

“How I’m going to stop them you mean.” I looked at him. “Come on this is a mess I have to fix on my own.”

“Where does it say that-so what will happen if you have so help, the world will come to an end-?”

He chuckled. “Fine, we’re going to stop them.”

“So what’s the plan, Shadow?” I grinned.

[Rogue’s view of things]

The shield was failing, no matter how much power we put into it. “Get ready to fight.” Abraham ordered.

“You three get to the back.” I said to Tails, Silver and Eggman.

“Incoming!” An agent called. Black Arms stormed in.

“Come on, just die!” Knuckles hissed. I looked back, Silver was fighting off some Black Arms that had going by.

“Silver!” Tails warned.

“Thanks Tails.”

“Sir, sir, the ship’s defense systems are down, we can shoot ‘em out of the sky!” We all turned.

“You can’t, Shadow and Winter are on that ship!” I declared.

“How do you know?” Abraham asked.

“The defense systems are down-hello-what else explains it other than those to on the ship?!” I answered.

“Sir, if we don’t do something now, it might be too late later.”

“If they’re on the ship they could destroy it from the inside, and come out alive! But if you shoot it you’ll kill them to!” Sonic said, containing his anger.

‘Come on, do the right thing.’
